This Purchasing Manager role is testament to this (as you’ll actually be called our Supply Chain Manager officially) as you might also know it as a Sourcing Manager, Buying Manager, Procurement Manager or even Commodity Manager.

Location: Corby, Northants with hybrid working – 3 days at our HQ (Wednesday is our team day) and 2 days remote
Role Type: 12-month maternity cover contract, Full Time (35 hrs per week)

Ultimately, your primary focus will be on strategic purchasing across our BAU operations and several significant business wide projects across the next 12 months, encompassing end to end purchasing management, contract negotiation, supplier sourcing and overseeing our planning and export activity.

Leading a team of 4 direct reports covering purchasing, planning and export activity, you’ll bring a leadership style that embodies empowerment and develops critical thinking and decision-making confidence, role modelled as you lead contract management, sourcing and supplier relationships across commodity and packaging categories.

You’ll also;

Drive best procurement practices and lead strategic initiatives that enhance value, compliance, and efficiency within the Supply Chain function.
Play a pivotal role in delivering our S&OP process

This isn’t a role where you’ll be standing still or maintaining BAU, it’s an opportunity that will be crucial to the success and growth of the business and for you individually

Am I the right person for this job?
You’ll be able to showcase your demonstrable experience within a Purchasing/Buying management role with a track record of successfully leading and developing a team. Strong negotiation and supplier management skills are second nature to you, along with the ability to confidently articulate supplier and contract management processes.

You’ll also need to have;

Strong experience of utilising an ERP (IFS would be desirable but not essential) to drive efficiencies
The ability to forge effective relationships with business and external stakeholders
Excellent MS Excel skills
