About The Role

This isn’t your average Training & Development role. This is an opportunity to shape and deliver an end-end training strategy to a network of self-employed The 1:1 Diet Consultants that can truly transform lives and drives commercial performance.

With around 6,000 passionate Consultants in our field network, all of whom provide personalised weight management solutions along with heaps of motivational, inspiring, and emotional support to their customers, you’ll find an audience with an unwavering desire for continued, commercially driven, personal and professional development.

Location: Corby, Northants with travel and hybrid working (1/2 days per week)– our Commercial teams typically collaborate onsite with each other on Mondays and Tuesdays
Role Type: Permanent, Full Time
Travel Requirement: 20% nationally, typically 1 day each week

Due to the nature of our operating model and customer base, you and your team will also deliver workshops/training activity virtually in the evenings (once every 2 weeks) and in person at the weekend (once every 3 weeks) on a rota basis.

What will I be doing?

In a newly created role, reporting directly to our Head of Sales, you’ll be joining as we launch a new commercial strategy and lead a team of 3 Sales Trainers that support our Consultant base in realising their business opportunity through building their business, team members and selling skills.

You’ll work closely with our commercial leadership team to understand the key drivers and market segmentation to develop a motivational curriculum and inspiring learning programmes that deliver exceptional experiences on everything from starting their The 1:1 Diet business and being onboarded, to understanding direct sales principles, understanding social commerce and being a business leader.

Through effective partnering and networking inside the business and externally in the field, you’ll drive engaging training strategies that support both regional objectives and overarching commercial goals, measuring your teams’ successes, and taking learnings to drive continuous improvement.  

This is a delivery focussed role where you’ll also role model effective learning delivery. Your key areas of focus will include;
  • Training Strategy – developing an end-to-end strategy aligned to delivering commercial objectives, encompassing a blended learning approach and targeted regional programmes 
  • Team Leadership – Leading and developing a team of Sales Trainers, by providing direction, guidance and feedback to support their growth and development. This will also include managing day-to-day operations such as rota planning and resource/travel planning
  • Channels & Delivery – review our current delivery model and design improvements that support the execution of the agreed training strategy, ensuring content is adapted and effective across the right channels (LMS, F2F etc)
  • Engagement – identify ways to promote L&D practices across leadership councils and champions in the field which, with the support of Regional Sales Managers, can drive performance to help achieve strategic business goals
  • Continuous Improvement – Taking a pro-active approach to spot skills gaps and create a targeted plan, plus, helping to take our L&D offering forward and increase user adoption through relevant and engaging content
Am I right the right person?
You’ll thrive in a fast-paced, people centric role, where you’ll be engaging and collaborating with stakeholders both internally and externally across a commercial sales & marketing operation and be confident in your ability to create and deliver engaging and motivational sales-based training strategies that are designed to help the business achieve its objectives. This experience may have been gained within a Direct Sales, Franchise Network or Multi-site Retail/Commerce environment or similar.

Your effective communication skills will come into their own as you lead a team in facilitating workshops/programmes of differing sizes to mixed groups across the country.

Other key success factors include;
  • Having previous experience of implementing L&D/Training change projects, this could include frameworks, needs analysis, systems (LMS) or new processes
  • Not be afraid to challenge the status quo and provide tangible solutions that are aligned to strategic objectives
  • Be ready to immerse yourself into the business and build effective and credible relationships across different stakeholder groups with the ability to influence and advise their decisions
